"We liked the Lions before it was cool"

I don’t care what anyone says about where the best place to watch Jared Goff sling it around the yard is while getting shitfaced off cheap beer and fried food is...
It will literally never come close to what BLB does for Lions games.
While I haven’t been to every lions bar in metro-detroit, I can say unapologetically that there are many reasons why this place is special.
The Riot Squad
Home of the notorious “Riot Squad” that pilgrimages to Ecorse Rd in Taylor every Sunday, Saturday, Thursday Night, and Monday night (holy fuck has the NFL taken over our lives).
You will see them in their normal sport, their annual gift exchange around Christmas or pounding turkey on Thanksgiving.
I want to make something really clear, I am not even a member of the elusive society. I have just able to see the way they party first hand and just wishing one would invite me in while at BLB.
Fight Song
Underneath the string Christmas lights while staring at a giant projector, you can sit criss-cross apple sauce with a bucket of beer in between your legs.
It’s truly heaven for lions fans. I will just say, if you don’t know the words to fight song past “forward down the field” - you are at the wrong spot. If you do know the whole fight song, you need to know that this place hands one extra word at the very end, “SHOTS”.
Yep that’s right, after every TD special shots come flying off shelves to everyone throughout the bar.
Thanks to Ben Johnson, this tradition has sent a lot of people home on their asses.
Bubbles!
I don’t know where these kind folk got these bubble guns but let’s just say you want to see what happens when the lions score a TD.
These bubble guns shoot MG-42 style like you are still playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare. There’s not many things better after a touchdown then looking up at countless bubbles as though it’s a blizzard and you are going to get school called off in the morning.
Bubble guns will surprise the wandering person who just stumbled into the bar, but you’ll get used to it and wont send you home with bad kind of PTSD but the good kind (Patricia thoroughly sucks d***s)
Social Media Savants
Lastly, I also love their lo-fi social media cult following.
Definitely give them a follow and cross your fingers you make their instagram story with the ultra-rare Christmas Tree hat on.
While many of you lions fans have been hiding in the shadows during the dark ages, BLB has been doing this forever.
Don’t think so, just glance at an employee in their custom shirts that simply read “We liked the lions before it was cool." Because they did.
